Pauline Purcell is an educational consultant and writer with a special interest in pupils who may be underachieving. She believes that Philosophy for Children is truly inclusive and empowering; that it can inspire pupils, and teachers and parents. As an experienced school manager, she knows that change and the raising of standards really depends upon developing effective learning relationships and experiences. The key agents of such improvements are our headteachers and teachers; this work aims to support them.
Pauline provides consultation for senior management teams, governors and parents; leadership training for Gifted and Talented specialists and whole school INSET for teachers and teaching assistants on improving the quality of pupils' thinking. She has a particular interest in empowering thinking through Philosophy for Children (P4C); and will work with pupils and their teachers to introduce and embed this methodology.
Pauline holds an MA in Educational Management, and an MA in Literature
